Live at the foot of the castle from The Witcher on the Eagles' Nests trail in the heart of the Krakow-Czestochowa Jura.

The Ogrodzieniec Castle (actually the ruins of the castle) played an important role in the series "The Witcher". It served as Sodden Hill, the site of the final battle. Scenes for the series were filmed at the castle in April 2019.

The Castle in Ogrodzieniec – A Tale from Forgotten Times

On a lofty, limestone rock, where the wind wails like a ghost in chains, and the shadow of death lurks around every corner, stand the ruins of the former stronghold – Ogrodzieniec. Once a bastion of powerful lords, today a residence of ghosts and memories best left undisturbed. The stone from which it was built remembers the days when knights clad in steel rode through its gates, and the banners of clans fluttered in the wind like the wings of gargoyles.

Witchers say that this castle, though abandoned, is not entirely empty. On a moonless night, when mists crawl down the slopes like a pack of wolves, a howl emerges from the depths of the ruins – not of a dog, not of a man. They speak of a witch who was locked in the dungeon for sorcery and dealings with monsters. They also speak of a black dog with burning eyes, the guardian of a treasure that supposedly still rests in the underground, and which is no longer guarded by any man, but by a curse stronger than death.

Geralt of Rivia traversed these lands once – though reluctantly. He was young, his hair still short, and his gaze less weary. It is said he spent one night in the shadow of the walls of Ogrodzieniec and never spoke of it again. Only once, years later, by the campfire in Brokilon, he muttered to Jaskier:

"Some ruins are better left alone. Especially those that look at you at night."

The Castle in Ogrodzieniec – a place where history and legend have intertwined like two trees in an ancient forest. It still stands there. Waiting.
