In 1911, Kazimierz Hroboni, an engineer from Lviv, designed the tenement house at the request of Piotr Stachiewicz, a well-known artist, graphic designer, and poster creator.

An elegant four-story building was created in the row housing, formerly known as the house “Under the Lion” and also “Under St. Mark”, whose facade faces today’s square named after General Zygmunt Zieliński. It is here, in spaces full of light, that not only Piotr Stachiewicz created his works, but also other outstanding artists, such as painter Antoni Procajłowicz and Władysław Żeleński – composer, educator, conductor, and director of the Krakow Conservatory of the Music Society. After World War II, Jan Świerczyński, a talented painter and sculptor, also created here, leaving his artistic mark by occupying a studio in the attic.

Today we present the restored interiors of the historic tenement house Wenecja 1. This is a place where the past intertwines with modernity, creating a unique atmosphere.
