Description
Practically all former structures related to torpedo testing in the world were destroyed during World War II or have been turned into museums over time. Some of them still function as active military facilities, which ordinary mortals cannot access. Against this backdrop, the remnants of the Hexengrund research complex, specifically one of its observation towers, is an exception. It is this tower that has been put up for sale. The Germans from the torpedo station in Gdynia released F5B torpedoes intended for U-boats and military aircraft. The missiles landed on the shallows near Jastarnia and Jurata, where they were observed from towers located on the water. Two of them were located near Jurata, and one in Jastarnia at a distance of 600 m - 2 km from the shore. The latter is already destroyed, but its foundation is still visible. Of the remaining two, only one is for sale. An unusual refuge on the water In the densely built landscape of Jurata, it has long been difficult to find (literally and figuratively) a quiet harbor. That is why the torpedo station located a few hundred meters from the shore is unique: · The very center of Jurata, yet in complete isolation · Own apartment, hotel, space located on the waters of the Baltic Sea - a unique feature in Poland · Well-preserved historical monument of global significance · Possibility to create a private harbor away from the land · Incredible potential for diving (500 m away is the wreck of the submarine ORP Grozny and the second torpedo station - a remnant of the same complex. What does the torpedo station in Jurata hide? As a building from 1942 that witnessed the most turbulent moments in 20th-century history, the torpedo station in Jurata is still in excellent condition. The walls and ceilings of the building are intact, and the original bricks from the 1940s can still be admired on the walls. Small elements of destroyed window carpentry and fittings from the era have also survived. What future awaits the torpedo station? Previous owners managed to obtain a construction permit from the Minister of Infrastructure in 2009 (along with decisions from the Minister of National Defense, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and the Minister of Economy). The reconstruction was to include the expansion of the building, strengthening its foundations, and placing a pier for small boats directly next to the existing structure. A few years later, an architectural concept was created with a breakwater, harbor, and an additional floor, allowing for a total of about 150 square meters of building space and additionally enlarging the area around the facility. The project for its adaptation was undertaken by the studio MFRMGR Marta Frejda & Michał Gratkowski Architects. Earlier, in 1998, a construction permit was issued by the Maritime Office in Gdynia. As can be seen, the path for further work has already been cleared, and this extraordinary property is just waiting for a visionary to bring these plans to life. A unique proposal for an investor looking for a truly unique location with a very interesting historical background. A place with a unique atmosphere and the possibility of creating, for example, an elegant event space, a sports and recreational base, or simply for private use for the most demanding individuals. Formal aspects The property is a hydraulic structure located about 1 km from the head of the pier in Jurata, along with the right to the land described in the land register as LAND UNDER INTERNAL MARINE WATERS. The building is single-story, situated on the bottom of Puck Bay, with an area of 70 square meters and a concept for expansion to 3 stories. The plot has an area of 151 square meters. A construction permit for the expansion of the building was issued in 2009 by the Minister of Infrastructure (along with decisions from the Minister of National Defense, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and the Minister of Economy), without further proceedings and undertaking work. The reconstruction was to include the expansion of the building, strengthening its foundations, and placing a pier for small boats directly next to the existing structure. The decision included a general list of agreements to be executed. Earlier, in 1998, a construction permit was issued by the Maritime Office in Gdynia, also without further proceedings.
