Stairs to happiness. A story from two levels. It was the year, let's say... 1978. Summer smelled completely different then - maybe because of fewer fumes, or maybe just because kids ran barefoot on the grass more often. In this very apartment - the one on two levels, with wooden stairs and a kitchen that had everything (including a Kasprzak radio on the windowsill) - life flowed to the rhythm of bottle caps, Teleranek, and the hopscotch. On the ground floor, it smelled of yeast cake. Mom had just taken it out of the oven and shouted from the kitchen: Wipe your hands before you touch anything! And you - you squeezed through the living room, throwing your backpack on the chair and running to the kitchen, where the dog - Burasek, who was neither gray nor purebred, but was yours - was waiting. In the bathroom downstairs, the one with the bathtub and shower, you all bathed - sometimes one after the other, sometimes all at once - because it would be faster, kids, faster! And then in pajamas with Mis Uszatek, you ran upstairs on those stairs - wooden, warm, the kind that creaked in the best way in the world. Upstairs - The Kingdom. Three rooms, each with a different world: one with balloon wallpaper, the second with a shelf full of Swiat Mlodych, and the third - supposedly for guests, but actually dad played chess there with himself. And although the PRL was not easy - in this apartment, everything was in its place. There was time, there was peace. There were family dinners, vacations at auntie's, and at Christmas, someone always brought oranges - and that was luxury. Today this apartment is waiting for another story. Maybe yours?
