Finally, it is worth mentioning a short legend about the origin of the name Jaworzno, which was given exactly at Panska Gora: King Kazimierz Wielki, traveling to Krakow, stopped at a place known today as Panska Gora. There he met woodcutters cutting a maple tree, and when asked what they were doing, they replied

"jawor se zno, lo tyk, co srybra sukajom".

This is how the name Jaworzno came about.
